some people come and some people go away

دِنيا هيك، كِلُّه مِقَدَّر

Denieh heik, kello meqaddar

 life is like that, it’s all destined

وأنتَ يا حلو، بعدَك أنت

O enta ya 7elu, ba3dak enta

And you, o sweet, after you (you still)

لا بتتغيَّر ولا بِتِكبَر

La bettet-ghayyar wa la betekbar

 you do not change and you do not grow up

لا عالبَال ولا عالخَاطِر

La 3al-baal wala 3al-khaater

it’s not on the mind and not on the memory

دِنيا هِيك، كلّ شِي بيصِير

Denieh heik, kel shi bey-sseer

 life is like that, it’s all going to be

وأنتَ يا حِلو، بَعدَك أَنتَ

O enta ya 7elu, ba3dak enta

 And you, sweet, after you (you stay in your place)

مِستَنِّي ونَاطِر بِقَلبَك الكِبِير

Messtanni o naater be-qalbak el-kebeer

you are waiting and waiting with your big heart

دِنيا هِيك، أَشكَال أَلوان

Denieh heik ash-kaal alwaan

 life is like that, shapes  and colors

فِيها المِتأَمِّل، فيها الغَرقَان

Feehaa el-met-ammel, feehaa el-gharqaan

 In which the meditator, in which the drowning

فيها اللّي بِينسَى وياللّي بِيِقسَى

Feehaa elli bey-enssa o yalli bey-eqssa

 there is who forget and who harsh

وياللّي بَعدُه عَايِش بالأَحلام

O yalli ba3do 3aayesh bel-a7laam

 And who is still live with dreams

دِنيا هِيك، أَشكال ألوان

Denieh heik ashkaal alwaan

life is like that, shapes colors

فيها المِتأَمِّل، فيها الغَرقَان

Feehaa el-meta-mmel feehaa el-gharqaan

In which the meditator, in which the drowning
